Chris Bowers, a local player from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, was the one to take home the top prize in 2014, collecting over $50,000 for his win as well as a ticket to the 2015 World Series of Poker Main Event. The win earned Bowers his first entry on his Hendon Mob page, as well as a bankroll to play other events, and he used that to win Event #1 at the 2015 Winter Super Stack at Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, Alberta in February of this year.

Capped at 460 players, this year's tournament looks to be just as big. With an estimated $230,000 in prizes, the 2015 edition will again likely feature a first prize of over $50,000. Action gets under way in the Main Event on Saturday October 3 at 11 a.m. for Day 1, with survivors of Day 1 hitting the felt for Day 2 which kicks off at 11 a.m. the following day. In the lead up to Day 1, two $55 satellites are running September 22 and 29, each starting at 7:15 p.m. As well, one-table sit-and-gos will start running from 6 p.m. on Friday Oct 2 for anyone looking to play their way into the Main Event.
